While cars are convenient, they also carry risks such as traffic accidents. DENSO TECHNO aims to make mobility more comfortable for all by maximizing the value and safety of cars while minimizing their risks. To achieve this, we are developing advanced safety and driving support functions such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC),which automatically performs some accelerator and brake operations, and pedal misstep prevention, as well as the ECUs and sensors needed for these functions. In terms of development of software and hardware, we are working to bring advanced safety functions to all cars as quickly as possible to achieve a comfortable mobility society by promoting DX and automating design work, which are two key strengths of DENSO TECHNO.

COCKPIT SYSTEM

Now it is time to see more and more cars making their own decisions under independent control. This requires mechanisms that can instantly inform the driver of the current vehicle state and intuitively communicate the driver's intentions to the vehicle through intuitive operations. We engage in the development of cockpit systems that integrate dashboard instruments and displays while leveraging the knowledge of human-machine interface technology, which allows humans to interact with machines. With software, hardware (mechanical and circuits), and design engineers working together, we incorporate quality in use into our designs in addition to operations and functions, including luxury, usability, sophistication. We are thus working to improve the product value of mobility itself.

POWER TRAIN SYSTEM

The powertrain system appropriately manages the energy of the power source and achieves optimal power transmission, including accelerator and gear shift operations. DENSO TECHNO develops powertrain systems for BEV (electric vehicles) and PHEV/HEV (hybrid vehicles) powered by batteries and motors, as well as vehicles equipped with engines. We use our knowledge of designing various cars to speedily create products that are more fuel-efficient and easier to operate, and deliver them to the global market. In addition to our strengths in software and hardware (mechanical/circuits) and control technology, we are also focusing on acquiring core automation technology and state-of-the-art technology through collaboration with DENSO, as well as leveraging digital technology. We will use these technologies to accelerate a smooth transition to electrification and contribute to a carbon-neutral and sustainable society.

VEHICLE SECURITY SYSTEM

With the computerization of cars, the technology of vehicle security is getting more sophisticated every year. Through the provision of smart entry systems that use a card or smartphone as the key, and ECUs for the detection of theft, we aim to achieve a mobility society that will allow people to travel with greater peace of mind and comfort. We also offer "hospitality" feature such as turning on the lights when you unlock the car. With our strength of design capabilities from both software and hardware perspectives, we contribute to rapid mass production through the designs that meet a wide range of needs from diverse global users, regions, and vehicles.

AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM

If the air conditioning system in the car changes, the ride comfort will change dramatically. In addition, air conditioning has a major role in fuel efficiency performance. DENSO TECHNO designs software, hardware (mechanical/circuits), and control for car air conditioning systems. Our strength lies in the "design-in" system, which involves the upstream development process within vehicle manufacturers. Based on the concept of a development vehicle that will be on the market in a few years, we participate in the project from the planning and conception phase, in which we ask the question "What is the ideal air conditioning system?" Using the knowledge we have accumulated so far, we propose the optimal development design process to our customers to improve quality and design efficiency. Through the design of car air conditioners, we will further contribute to fuel-efficiency and safe and comfortable systems for automobiles.

FACTORY-IOT

With IoT technology, people have entered the era in which various things are connected. Factory-IoT connects the equipment, personal and goods of the DENSO GROUP's 130 factories in the world over a network. Using the data DENSO TECHNO collect from each factory, we develop technologies for autonomous control, visualization, and automation of production lines. By developing IoT applications that visualize the situation in the factory, automating visual inspection by AI, and analyzing collected fault and defect data, we can achive "24/7 running lines" and contribute to strengthening our global production system.

Due to the large scale and complexity of in-vehicle systems and the installation of new features for autonomous driving, the scale of software is increasing, but users demand completely new value at shorter intervals. DENSO TECHNO introduces innovative processes and creates advanced tools for vehicle control and telecommunications software development. We not only solve product problems, but also innovate the development and design process itself, and contribute to user-first development.

MECHANICAL / ELECTRONICS DESIGN DX

Digital technologies used in mechanical/electronics design include three-dimensional models(3D models), circuit models, and systems for managing design projects. About 30 years ago, hand-drawn drawings have been replaced by computer-used CAD drawings, and about 20 years ago, 3D models, circuit models, and design verification simulations have become popular. Where we used to rely on experts in their respective fields, we now incorporate these technologies into the design process, and designers themselves use digital technology to reduce design time and improve design skills.

A huge amount of data about cities, products, and people is called "BIG DATA" , and is expected to be used in manufacturing but also in a wide range of fields such as marketing. The "BIG DATA" used in DENSO TECHNO is the voice of end users, societies, and products, and is analyzed by "AI". We aim to provide "the real worth" by reflecting this feedback in product design and control. We are also building highly secured cloud systems and promoting the use of "AI and BIG DATA".

CAE is a computational technique for performing design and analysis on a computer. The role of CAE in product design is to cut the development time and costs by being able to check the product will perform satisfactorily early in the design process. At DENSO TECHNO, our group of CAE experts has industry-leading technology. We analyze the phenomenon in the product, propose better designs and continue to take on difficulty challenges.
